Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate OSS infrastructure and toolchains across cloud and on-premises environments for Barclays’ global network.
- Develop and deliver scalable, maintainable, secure, and performance-optimized software solutions.
- Implement medium- to large-scale data solutions using Ab Initio, Hadoop, SQL, AWS database technologies, and related tools.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, unit testing, and secure coding practices.
- Manage or lead development teams working with cloud and Hadoop technologies where applicable.
- Analyze complex information, manage risks and controls, and support governance, regulatory, and compliance objectives.
Requirements
- High proficiency with Ab Initio development and standard techniques on UNIX, Hadoop, and Linux.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience implementing medium- to large-scale data solutions.
- Strong SQL skills with Hive, Impala, and AWS database technologies such as Athena.
- Experience with AWS and cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of job scheduling with TWS.
- Experience with scripting and data tools including DBT, Python, Databricks, and shell scripting.
- Ability to work in an agile environment with evolving demands.
- Credit risk banking experience is desired.
- Regulatory experience with IFRS9 or BCBS, including control and compliance implementations, is desired.
- Experience managing development teams under cloud and Hadoop technologies is desired.
- Previous experience in Finance, Treasury, and Risk functions is desired.
