
Senior Software Engineer, Site Performance
Warner Bros. DiscoveryResponsibilities
- Optimize CNN’s site performance, including speed, responsiveness, scalability, page load times, and user interactions.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in code, databases, and infrastructure.
- Develop primarily in modern JavaScript using AWS.
- Implement and use performance monitoring and analytics tools to track site performance metrics and proactively identify issues.
- Contribute to code and architecture reviews and help define and evolve engineering standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and inter-team partners on priorities, tasks, and solutions.
- Move work from proofs of concept through prototypes to production releases.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience working with other developers on a production system.
- At least 5 years of JavaScript experience, including ES6/7 and asynchronous JavaScript.
- Experience with performance monitoring and analytics tools such as Datadog, New Relic, or similar.
- Hands-on familiarity with both client-side and server-side technologies.
- Strong understanding of common software data structures and algorithms.
- Ability to break down organization-level priorities into meaningful tasks and solutions while working cross-functionally.
- Deep industry experience with modern development technologies.
