Base Salary
$104k - $130k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software features for new products and extend existing product designs.
- Select and integrate third-party and open-source technologies.
- Create high- and low-level design documentation and participate in design reviews and code inspections.
- Develop automated unit tests and test feature functionality on existing products and the next-generation 5G Air to Ground solution.
- Provide estimates, track project stories and tasks, report status, and ensure work is completed on schedule.
- Improve design, development, and testing processes.
- Potentially establish and maintain software build environments and source-code repositories for assigned projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7–12 years of software development experience, preferably in Linux or embedded systems environments.
- Understanding of Linux networking, including routing, iptables, DHCP, and DNS.
- Strong application-development skills in Linux using Python and/or Linux scripting languages, C/C++, and possibly Go.
- Experience developing software with open-source packages for data communications and/or telecommunications systems.
- Experience with Jenkins automation build and test environments, Git, and relevant software configuration-management tools.
- Knowledge of Linux container concepts, especially Docker.
- Preferred: experience with 802.11ac wireless networking, traffic shaping and QoS, Agile and SAFe, avionics and ARINC protocols, DO-178C, and satellite communications.
