Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded software for breast and skeletal health systems.
- Design, implement, test, and validate low-level device drivers for embedded platforms.
- Perform board bring-up, hardware/software integration, debugging, and validation on new hardware platforms.
- Develop and debug peripheral interfaces using I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN, and Ethernet.
- Architect complex embedded software systems and resolve complex technical issues and defects.
- Collaborate with Test Engineers on software testing, verification, and validation.
- Create requirements, design specifications, release notes, and other technical documentation.
- Conduct software risk assessments and develop mitigations across component, subsystem, and system levels.
- Mentor junior engineers, champion best practices, and serve as a technical leader.
- Partner with Product Management and domain experts on product improvements and new features.
- Train cross-functional teams on product design elements and proper usage.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar relevant technical field.
- At least 6 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree.
- Experience developing complex, multi-component systems involving RTOS and/or embedded controllers.
- Expert-level C/C++ programming experience in an embedded environment; assembler-level experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with device-driver design, board bring-up, hardware/software integration, peripheral interfaces, and embedded debugging.
- Strong foundation in operating systems, software systems, data structures, algorithms, networking, multithreading, software design principles, and design patterns.
- Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and architect maintainable software meeting functional and performance requirements.
- Experience with code reviews, version control, CI/CD build pipelines, and issue or project tracking tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication, cross-functional collaboration, ownership, and technical leadership skills.
- Preferred experience includes medical devices, medical imaging, image processing, DICOM, HL7, secure coding, or cybersecurity.
