Base Salary

$158k - $218k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Conduct QA, validation, verification, reliability, compliance, and safety testing for onboard chargers, HV powertrain components, and vehicle charging systems.
  • Develop and execute test plans covering electrical, thermal, mechanical, and high-voltage charging assessments.
  • Operate and maintain high-voltage test equipment, power supplies, electronic loads, and mechanical test setups.
  • Support hardware-in-the-loop and High Voltage Buck testing, including implementation of automated test cases.
  • Design, build, maintain, and integrate test benches for high- and low-voltage systems.
  • Automate data logging and analysis using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, CANape, and CANalyzer.
  • Troubleshoot test failures with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams.
  • Document test procedures, results, design improvements, and test reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers and vendors to define methodologies and ensure compliance with J1772, ISO 15118, and J3400.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar technical field is required; a master’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in battery software testing or automotive embedded systems.
  • Proficiency with Vector CANoe and CANape for testing and simulations.
  • Experience testing high-voltage battery software, including safety protocols, PPE usage, and emergency procedures.
  • Expertise with the MATLAB Simulink family of tools for model-based software verification.
  • Strong understanding of voltage, current, capacity, energy, SOC, SOE, SOP, SOH, and charge/discharge characteristics.
  • Familiarity with CAN, LIN, RS-232, USB, Automotive Ethernet, networking devices, and communication protocols.
  • Ability to design and build test benches and integrate test automation tools.
  • Strong documentation skills for test planning, execution, and reporting.
