
OSS & Automation Architect

Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between the OSS program and internal Service Assurance, Service Delivery, Service Enablement, and adjacent teams.
- Capture operational processes, pain points, automation opportunities, requirements, and constraints for engineering hand-off.
- Translate stakeholder needs into Functional Requirements and Non-Functional Requirements.
- Define automation requirements for fault management, performance management, configuration management, partner onboarding, workflow governance, business logic, exception handling, and automated decisions.
- Specify OSS integration points with ERP, CRM, Jira, and custom internal systems.
- Contribute requirements context to Architecture Decision Records and major OSS design decisions.
- Participate in architecture sessions and sprint reviews, and validate delivered functionality against acceptance requirements.
- Maintain business process, requirements, decision, and OSS capability documentation.
- Create and maintain a roadmap of automation opportunities ranked by operational impact.
- Proactively identify process gaps, integration needs, and automation opportunities through stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in solutions architecture, systems integration, or OSS/BSS architecture roles within the telecommunications industry.
- Deep knowledge of OSS functions including fault management, service provisioning, performance management, and service assurance.
- Hands-on experience with commercial OSS platforms such as Ericsson OSSA, Nokia NSP, NetCracker, Amdocs, or Rakuten Symphony.
- Experience with TM Forum Open APIs and the eTOM/TAM business process and application frameworks.
- Experience with ITIL-aligned service management, particularly service assurance and incident management workflows.
- Experience with workflow and BPM tooling such as Camunda, Apache Airflow, or ServiceNow from a requirements or design perspective.
- Proven ability to elicit, structure, and deliver engineering-ready functional and non-functional requirements.
- Experience specifying telecom workflow automation, including trigger conditions, state machines, exception handling, and governance rules.
- Experience specifying OSS integrations with adjacent systems, including REST APIs, event-driven integration, and data contract design.
- Working familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and architecture and documentation tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams and maintain productive relationships across time zones.
