Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain batch and real-time machine learning models at scale.
- Develop algorithms for personalisation, recommendation, ranking, pricing, and customer targeting.
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product partners to productionise machine learning solutions supporting hundreds of millions of products and customers.
- Improve the codebase, tooling, platforms, and machine learning features and capabilities.
- Contribute to technical direction, machine learning standards, and knowledge sharing across the engineering community.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor a small number of less-experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Professional experience applying machine learning in real-world production environments, with a focus on deep learning.
- Experience with recommendation or ranking systems, or a strong interest in the area.
- Familiarity with modern deep learning frameworks and distributed computing for training large-scale models.
- Experience training models across GPUs using data or model parallelism, or enthusiasm to develop this knowledge.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including data pipelines, CI/CD, containerisation, and observability.
- Exposure to MLOps practices and tooling.
- Ability to provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to less-experienced engineers.
- Strong collaboration skills and willingness to contribute to shared engineering initiatives.
