Senior Native Application Engineer

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain native iOS and Android applications for high-quality streaming experiences at scale.
- Contribute to Apple TV, Fire TV/Android TV, and Roku applications.
- Partner with backend-for-frontend engineers to define API contracts and server-driven UI patterns.
- Use and promote AI-assisted development workflows to improve individual and team productivity.
- Drive native platform architecture, shared patterns, reusable components, and cross-platform consistency.
- Translate business objectives into well-scoped technical work with product, design, and engineering leadership.
- Collaborate with employees and contractors on quality standards and knowledge sharing.
- Identify and address technical debt affecting platform stability, performance, or developer velocity.
- Champion app security, crash reporting, observability, and release-quality practices.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Swift and Kotlin with hands-on experience shipping production mobile applications.
- Deep understanding of native mobile development patterns, architecture, and platform-specific best practices.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor, with demonstrated use to accelerate delivery.
- Familiarity with live streaming, video playback, or media-rich application development.
- Experience working across multiple platforms or demonstrated willingness to learn new platforms.
- Strong understanding of API integration and experience collaborating with backend teams on API design.
- Familiarity with app performance monitoring, crash reporting, and observability tooling.
- Familiarity with mobile CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Fastlane, Bitrise, and Xcode Cloud.
- Strong ownership, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and learning skills.
- Preferred experience with server-driven UI or backend-for-frontend architecture patterns.
- Preferred experience with TV platform development including tvOS, Fire TV, Android TV, and Roku.
- Preferred contributions to shared component libraries or native mobile design systems.
