Base Salary
$187k - $229k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build end-to-end platform solutions, backend services, RESTful APIs, and front-end interfaces using object-oriented programming, domain-driven design, and event-driven patterns.
- Design, build, operate, and evolve scalable microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Own core RESTful platform APIs, shared frameworks, and clear technical documentation that improves developer experience.
- Modernize and operate cloud-native services on Azure and/or AWS in partnership with cloud and DevOps engineering.
- Integrate agentic AI, LLM, and MCP-based capabilities into platform services and establish guidelines for responsible AI-assisted development.
- Evaluate AI coding tools including Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor for productivity and risk.
- Mentor senior and lead engineers, influence technical direction across teams, and serve as the expert for platform architecture decisions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including architecture of complex end-to-end platform solutions across multiple technology domains.
- Strong command of object-oriented programming and design patterns, including domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, and microservices.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language: Java, C#, or Python.
- Proven full-stack experience designing and building RESTful APIs from the data layer through consuming services.
- Hands-on experience building AI-powered features involving LLMs or AI agents and using AI coding tools responsibly.
- Deep hands-on experience with cloud-native architecture on Azure and/or AWS.
- Track record of simplifying engineering workflows and writing clear, accessible documentation.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to engineers and business stakeholders.
- Preferred front-end experience with TypeScript or JavaScript and React or Angular.
- Experience with MCP-based tooling or agentic AI systems consumed by engineering teams.
- Experience with agent harness engineering, spec-driven development, and emerging AI coding techniques.
- Familiarity with GraphQL or gRPC in addition to REST.
- Cloud certification such as Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
