Base Salary
$160k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and scale backend services with Next.js API routes, background jobs, and serverless functions for high-throughput order processing.
- Build and productionize LLM-based agents, AI/ML infrastructure, and RAG patterns for quote analysis and supplier recommendations.
- Design PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and complex queries for transactional manufacturing and supplier data.
- Architect event-driven systems, reliable pipelines, notification triggers, and cross-system synchronization.
- Implement caching and rate-limiting strategies for reliable external API calls.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, observability, and incident response practices for backend systems.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of production experience building backend services, data pipelines, or platform infrastructure.
- Deep, recent hands-on experience with TypeScript and Next.js.
- Experience with LLM-based agents, RAG patterns, AI or agentic frameworks, or productionizing ML models in backend systems.
- Experience designing systems with ACID transactional guarantees, exactly-once processing, and idempotent APIs.
- Experience building NLP/ML pipelines for OCR and information extraction from unstructured documents.
- Experience designing and scaling PostgreSQL or relational database schemas for transactional workloads.
- Experience with event-driven systems, message queues, reliable data pipelines, ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, and third-party or legacy APIs.
- Professional experience in manufacturing supply chain, procurement, or logistics.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and comfort working on a small startup team; founding or founding-engineer experience is a strong plus.

- Salary range of $160,000 to $250,000 per year.
