Base Salary
$320k - $485k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own backend services and infrastructure serving Claude across multiple cloud service providers.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and cloud partners to launch serving stacks, resolve operational issues, and influence provider roadmaps.
- Build validation and deployment pipelines that reliably ship new model versions across cloud platforms.
- Develop cross-cloud interfaces and tooling abstractions to reduce platform complexity and optimize inference costs.
- Contribute to capacity planning, autoscaling, workload routing, and geographic resource allocation.
- Analyze observability data to identify performance bottlenecks, cost anomalies, and production regressions, then drive remediation.
Requirements
- Significant software engineering experience building or operating high-performance, large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users.
- Experience operating services on at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, with exposure to Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, or container orchestration.
- Curiosity about LLM serving; prior inference or machine learning experience is not required.
- Experience collaborating with internal teams and external partners to align goals and deliver impact.
- Ability to learn new technologies, hardware platforms, and cloud provider ecosystems quickly.
- High autonomy and ownership of problems from end to end.
- Preferred: experience scaling infrastructure or products across multiple cloud providers and navigating networking, security, privacy, billing, and managed services.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with capacity management, cost optimization, or resource planning across heterogeneous environments.
- Preferred: understanding of multi-region deployments, geographic routing, and global traffic management.
- Preferred: proficiency in Python or Rust.
