Base Salary
$499k - $900k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build security primitives for large-scale streaming and content-delivery protocols.
- Own consolidated application-security primitives across Open Connect delivery paths, extending capabilities beyond libraries such as OpenSSL.
- Optimize cryptographic and transport-security layers on edge appliances for performance and resource efficiency.
- Develop host-side DoS and resource-exhaustion mitigations, including kernel-integrated traffic throttling.
- Research and mitigate application- and protocol-level vulnerabilities across the Open Connect platform.
- Partner with product, business, and adjacent technical teams to define requirements and deliver end-to-end security controls.
- Serve as the security owner and liaison for Open Connect protocols and cryptographic foundations.
- Define and self-manage cross-functional projects from conception through production.
Requirements
- Proven experience architecting and implementing security features that materially improve system security.
- Deep hands-on expertise in applied cryptography and security protocols, including TLS, DTLS, QUIC, signatures, key management, and AEAD.
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end security controls from architecture through production.
- Demonstrated success improving security posture through cross-functional collaboration.
- Preferred experience with high-scale DoS or resource-exhaustion mitigations, OpenSSL or similar cryptographic libraries, or security-protocol standards.
- Preferred participation in IETF, Crypto Forum Research Group, or Real World Crypto.
- Preferred experience securing live-streaming or media-delivery protocols, distributed systems, complex-system fuzzing, FreeBSD, and Linux.
- Preferred programming experience with C, Golang, and Python.
