Base Salary
$250k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the Scene Generation team’s day-to-day priorities, technical direction, architecture decisions, and engineering alignment.
- Own the technical vision and roadmap for neural rendering and generative modeling in support of Torc’s AV 3.0 strategy.
- Apply research advances to production-quality camera, LiDAR, and radar sensor simulation for perception simulation and autonomous-vehicle training.
- Own the neural-rendering framework end to end, including research, design, implementation, testing, cloud integration, scaling, and deployment.
- Design, implement, test, and deploy production software while setting the team’s technical quality bar.
- Drive cloud machine-learning integration and automate pipelines for autonomous-truck verification and validation.
- Represent the team’s roadmap, priorities, and constraints across organizational interfaces and leadership.
- Mentor, coach, hire, onboard, and support the career development of engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field plus 10+ years of experience; alternatively, a master’s degree plus 7+ years or a PhD plus 5+ years.
- PhD or equivalent work experience of 8+ years in a relevant field, with experience shipping production software and leading technical teams.
- Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Expertise in neural rendering, including Neural Radiance Fields and 3D Gaussian Splatting, and generative models including Diffusion Models and Flow Matching.
- Experience with production robotics or autonomous-driving data, computer vision, computer graphics, 3D reconstruction, or 3D computer vision.
- Experience handling camera, LiDAR, and radar data across multiple timestamps and sensor modalities.
- Experience with VDI and cloud-based machine-learning development environments.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, consensus-building, solution ownership, cross-team alignment, and mentoring of engineers.
- Bonus: autonomous-driving or robotics perception production experience, CUDA programming, relevant publications, MLOps and Ray, 3D labeling, calibration, sensor-simulation pipelines, or formal people-management experience.
