Base Salary

$214k - $285k/yr

Responsibilities

Build features and experiences from 0 to 1.
Help determine the architecture and technology stack for AI-enabled capabilities.
Ship product experiences that change how data scientists and analysts work.
Run experiments, fine-tune models, deploy AI infrastructure, and build and maintain experimentation tooling.
Advance Hex’s context engine and Notebook Agent, including SQL generation quality and LLM-based evaluation of agent threads.
Partner with product teams to deliver production AI applications for Hex users.
Take on technical and team leadership opportunities based on interest.

Experience getting AI/ML capabilities into production and serving real users.
Strong enthusiasm for applying AI to real business problems.
Understanding of core MLOps and software architecture concepts for modern ML-based applications.
Strong infrastructure knowledge in MLOps is ideal.
Comfort working with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, with openness to both.
An experimentalist mindset, including rapid iteration and critical thinking.
Interest in data, product development, and building tools that empower end users.
Experience maintaining high standards for design, correctness, and testing.
The role is intended for experienced candidates and is not currently seeking new graduates.

Full-time role based in San Francisco or New York.
Employees are encouraged to work from the office at least twice a week, with Tuesdays and Thursdays as main in-person days.
