Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and mentor others on Vue 3 and TypeScript client UI and framework code.
- Own the dependency-injection, decorator-based registration, plugin-loading, UI slot injection, and configuration-merge extensibility model.
- Maintain backward compatibility and publish versioned shared packages with semantic-versioning and deprecation practices.
- Keep the modern Vue client and legacy Dojo application shippable together while migrating incrementally.
- Extend integrations for scanners, scales, printers, payment terminals, cash recyclers, and customer displays, including a mock device harness.
- Maintain hybrid Maven/npm builds, monorepo publishing, Jenkins multi-branch pipelines, and releases for constrained or air-gapped environments.
- Own unit, component, coverage-gated, and browser-automated BDD testing and resolve product, customer, and partner defects.
- Create architecture decision records, component analyses, solution designs, extension catalogs, and self-enablement documentation.
- Represent the client stack at the Architecture Review Board and serve as a technical interface to key technology partners.
- Estimate work, meet deliverables, support team KPIs, and promote sound programming patterns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of professional web development experience for Software Engineer III or 9 years of full-stack web development experience, particularly client side, for Software Engineer IV.
- Strong TypeScript and object-oriented programming skills, including generics, declaration files, and strict-mode discipline.
- At least 2 years of deep Vue 3 or equivalent modern component-framework experience, including reactivity, routing, and centralized state management.
- Experience building shared libraries or frameworks consumed by other teams.
- Experience with dependency injection or inversion-of-control containers such as InversifyJS, tsyringe, Angular DI, or Spring, plus decorator-based registration.
- Deep knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, TypeScript, SASS, XML/JSON, Vue.js, ESM, AMD, UMD, and build tooling such as Vite.
- Unit-testing experience and browser automation with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, including diagnosing flaky tests.
- Experience working in large legacy codebases without rewriting them.
- Experience in Java-based environments sufficient to debug services and locate defects across system boundaries.
- Understanding of REST and OpenAPI contracts, breaking changes, CI/CD, containerized builds, artifact registries, lockfiles, and dependency conflicts.
- Proficiency with Git at team scale, including release lines, backports, and conflict resolution.
- Experience with Linux, Windows, iOS, or Android installation, light administration, and scripting.
- Knowledge of software development life cycles and Agile practices, plus strong technical writing, communication, debugging, and teamwork.
- Preferred experience includes POS or retail systems, third-party plugin architectures, POS devices, WebSocket or STOMP protocols, hardware or driver debugging, iframes, postMessage, origin and window contexts, storage scoping, Dojo, React, AngularJS, Docker, Spring Boot, Swagger, and REST design.
