Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, configure, manage, troubleshoot, and optimize containerized applications and infrastructure on Kubernetes, OpenShift, and OpenStack.
- Develop, test, and maintain Python and Ansible automation scripts for operational efficiency.
- Lead investigations and resolutions for complex, high-severity customer incidents.
- Identify root causes, implement durable solutions, and prepare root cause analyses for critical incidents.
- Stay current with cloud and containerization best practices and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with developers and product engineers to connect infrastructure and software operations.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking principles, including TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, firewalls, VLANs, and IP routing.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration and OpenStack, plus Docker or other containerization technologies.
- Knowledge of Podman, Helm, KVM/QEMU, and related container or virtualization technologies is advantageous.
- Solid Python and Bash scripting skills and familiarity with Ansible.
- Expertise in preparing and implementing root cause analyses.
- Proven experience with Escalation, Monitoring, and Emergency management processes.
- Understanding of relational databases including MySQL and MariaDB, and experience with ETCD.
- Relevant certifications include Red Hat Certified Specialist in Cloud Infrastructure, Red Hat Certified Engineer, Red Hat OpenStack, Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, and Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Automation and API Management.
