Responsibilities

  • Own 24×7 health and operational readiness of Skylo’s hybrid public- and private-cloud infrastructure.
  • Operate and troubleshoot multi-cluster Kubernetes environments, including GKE, bare-metal Kubernetes, storage, networking, and hyperconverged compute.
  • Own Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Loki or ELK, alerting, and observability pipeline reliability.
  • Manage PostgreSQL replication, backups, failover, performance, and Redis cluster operations.
  • Serve as the L3 Cloud Infrastructure escalation authority and lead incident bridges, diagnosis, resolution, and engineering handoffs.
  • Define and maintain SLOs, SLIs, SLAs, error budgets, capacity plans, and reliability improvement roadmaps.
  • Lead Cloud Infrastructure root-cause analysis and deliver actionable post-incident documentation.
  • Author and maintain infrastructure runbooks, diagnostic decision trees, and operational standards.
  • Oversee ArgoCD and Helm GitOps operations and review Terraform and Ansible infrastructure changes.
  • Partner with Network Implementation, Platform Engineering, security, Core NRE, and RAN NRE teams.
  • Mentor Senior NREs in Kubernetes troubleshooting, storage, databases, observability, and escalation judgment.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of infrastructure engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or cloud operations experience in a production 24×7 environment with direct Kubernetes on-call ownership.
  • Deep Kubernetes expertise covering multi-cluster operations, node pools, RBAC, network policies, persistent storage, CSI drivers, CRDs/operators, and cluster upgrades.
  • Hands-on experience operating public cloud such as GCP or AWS together with on-premise or private-cloud infrastructure.
  • Production ownership of Prometheus, Grafana, VictoriaMetrics, OpenTelemetry, and alerting pipelines using Pub/Sub or equivalent.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL streaming replication, backup and restore, failover, performance tuning, Redis clusters, and persistence management.
  • Production experience with ArgoCD or Flux CD, Helm, and Terraform or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of SLO, SLI, SLA, error budgets, toil measurement, capacity planning, and on-call design.
  • Understanding of container runtimes, Linux internals, kernel performance, storage subsystems, and network packet flow.
  • Ability to write executable infrastructure runbooks and deliver structured RCA and escalation documentation.
  • Preferred experience includes telecom or NTN workloads, 5G Core or vRAN infrastructure, satellite ground segments, Ceph or Rook, KubeVirt, Harvester, OpenStack, BGP, VXLAN, EVPN, software-defined networking, hardware load balancers, Go or Python automation, FinOps, and relevant professional certifications.
  • Preferred certifications include CKA, CKS, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or Red Hat Certified Architect.
