Senior Software Engineer (Flutter/Dart)

Responsibilities
- Lead development and optimization of a tactical edge client across Android mobile and Linux in-vehicle systems.
- Own application performance on resource-constrained hardware, including startup time, memory, GPU, frame rate, and battery usage.
- Implement resilient networking with streaming, secure transport, reconnection, offline-first behavior, and degraded-link handling.
- Design and maintain scalable multi-platform architecture and SDK/API interfaces.
- Collaborate with product and platform teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Develop geospatial capabilities such as map rendering and tile pipelines when applicable.
Requirements
- Strong Flutter/Dart experience, including widget lifecycle, rebuild costs, platform channels, and multi-platform builds.
- Experience with reactive state management using technologies such as Riverpod, Redux, Rx, or Combine, and MVVM architecture.
- Proficiency with Flutter DevTools, systrace or Perfetto, frame budgets, memory and GPU analysis, startup optimization, and battery management.
- Knowledge of Android process and activity lifecycles, foreground services, Doze and background limits, permissions, ANRs, adb, and logcat.
- Linux experience with system services, filesystems, permissions, packaging, and shell environments.
- Experience with gRPC streaming, TLS and trust stores, reconnection and backoff, offline-first design, and degraded-link behavior.
- Ability to apply sound architecture practices on large codebases, including one-way dependencies and unit and widget testing.
- Must be clearance eligible and able to travel up to 25%.
- Preferred: experience with map rendering, MBTiles, raster/vector tile pipelines, coordinate systems, terrain elevation, Kubernetes, SDK/API versioning, backward compatibility, deprecation, documentation, and samples.
- Preferred: experience with Kotlin, MethodChannels, JNI, FFI, Objective-C++, TypeScript, WebView bridges, and OpenLayers.
