Base Salary

Responsibilities

  • Capture and understand system requirements and operations concepts with NASA customers, users, software engineers, and partners.
  • Perform systems requirements, functional, timeline, allocation, interface, and architecture analysis.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute test plans and procedures linked to requirements.
  • Test Mission Control Center software, facilities, environments, subsystems, infrastructure, and vehicle test labs or simulators.
  • Execute test procedures, document actual versus expected results, and generate Test Status Reports.
  • Coordinate real-time test activities via voice loops with personnel operating MCCS infrastructure and vehicle test labs.
  • Review and contribute to requirements, change requests, designs, documentation, and other implementation artifacts.
  • Participate in peer reviews and improve overall system test capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree with 2–5 years of general experience.
  • Preferred degree fields include Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related area.
  • Preferred candidates have 0–2 years of direct experience in spaceflight operations, control-center operations, ground or space network operations, or related technical areas.
  • Experience with spacecraft ground processing, telemetry, command or trajectory systems, space-to-ground communications, network data transport, or International Space Station communications is relevant.
  • Working knowledge of the full software development life cycle and familiarity with software engineering practices.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, decision-making, communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively, meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and operate in a high-pressure environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a NASA Personal Identity Verification badge.
  • Desired experience includes automation, Linux, Git, Python, scripting tools, MDT displays and display creation, ServiceNow, and Office 365.
