Responsibilities
- Design and implement resilient, multi-step, long-running operations and orchestration workflows on Google’s cluster management systems.
- Drive architectural improvements to decouple systems, manage service overload, and integrate with Google Cloud services including AlloyDB, Cloud SQL, and BigQuery.
- Own ambiguous technical challenges end to end by translating complex requirements into architectures and maintaining engineering standards through design and code reviews.
- Improve system reliability, eliminate operational toil, and contribute to AI agents that automate release pipelines and streamline on-call workflows.
- Mentor fellow engineers and guide the technical design of new features.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Five years of experience with large-scale infrastructure software development in one or more general-purpose programming languages.
- Three years of experience designing, investigating, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Two years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Five years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with databases and data processing pipelines.
- Knowledge of enterprise networking and AI systems and tools.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Strong track record of solving complex problems, thriving in ambiguity and change, and achieving significant impact.
