Responsibilities
- Participate in or lead design reviews and evaluate technology options with peers and stakeholders.
- Define, design, and implement key features for Cloud Filestore backup services.
- Improve existing backup and disaster recovery functionality and infrastructure.
- Help design and implement the next generation of the filesystem backup service.
- Collaborate with filesystem engineering, product, project management, and SRE teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience with data structures, algorithms, and software development in one or more programming languages.
- At least 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or working with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- At least 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products and at least 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholder groups.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Preferred: experience developing accessible technologies and designing large-scale filesystems or distributed storage systems.
- Preferred: deep expertise in storage systems, distributed systems architecture, data replication, and disaster recovery technologies.
