Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and improve highly available Kubernetes infrastructure across hybrid cloud deployments, including on-premises data centers and AWS.
- Develop infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, self-healing features, self-service tools, and APIs for developers.
- Perform capacity planning, launch reviews, proactive outage prevention, blameless postmortems, and incident response.
- Lead end-to-end infrastructure solution design, standards maintenance, proof-of-concept evaluations, and major-incident escalation.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, architects, solution owners, vendors, and other IT partners.
- Mentor developers on creating and deploying cloud-native applications and provide technical leadership for initiatives and projects.
- Ensure solutions comply with quality, regulatory, and Technical Architecture Framework standards.
- Manage ITSM processes and lead audit evidence collection.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field with 2–5 years of relevant experience; alternatively, 4–7 years without a degree or 1–3 years with a master’s degree.
- Strong hands-on experience managing, navigating, and hardening Kubernetes clusters and containers, including distributed storage; Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification is a strong plus.
- Experience with infrastructure automation using Ansible and Terraform.
- Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go, including test automation such as pytest and API deployment and management.
- Expertise implementing software delivery pipelines with Jenkins, Rundeck, or GitLab.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, routing, and service meshes.
- Experience configuring logging, metrics, monitoring, and symptom-based alerting.
- Experience with public cloud platforms, particularly AWS and services such as EKS, VPC, and IAM.
- Experience applying best practices in always-available service environments and knowledge of Scrum, Agile, Technical Architecture Frameworks, and quality/regulatory compliance standards.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, collaboration, independent-working, stakeholder-management, and customer-delivery skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English and ability to work across multiple time zones.
- Experience with sustainable incident response, ITSM processes, and audit evidence collection.
