Base Salary
$95k - $177k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded software in C/C++ and Rust.
- Develop software supporting Layer 2 and Layer 3 in-line network encryptors, embedded cryptographic devices, and emerging cryptographic solutions.
- Use Linux in embedded environments and develop or modify Linux kernel and bare-metal device drivers.
- Develop standalone embedded applications and work with microprocessors and embedded processors.
- Implement and work with TCP/IP, network configuration, and networking protocols including IPSec, MACsec, and TLS.
- Develop in Python and participate in CI/CD software development.
- Collaborate with system, test, and hardware engineers to develop and transition new capabilities into service.
- Plan, track, and report on progress while participating in multidisciplinary Agile Scrum teams.
- Travel up to 10%.
Requirements
- Completion of a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 0-3 years of full-time relevant industry experience.
- U.S. citizenship and an active SECRET or TOP SECRET security clearance.
- Experience designing and implementing embedded software in C/C++ or Rust.
- Linux experience, ideally in an embedded environment, and a basic understanding of TCP/IP and common network configuration.
- Agile Scrum development experience and familiarity with CI/CD software.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes object-oriented software development, Linux kernel and bare-metal drivers, NIOS, ARM, RISC-V, RESTConf interface design, emulation environments, IPSec, MACsec, TLS, Python, standalone embedded applications, and multidisciplinary teams.

- Site-based position requiring work five days per week from the Viasat office.
- Relocation assistance is available pending eligibility.
- Base pay is listed as $95,000.00-$150,000.00 annually, with a location-specific range of $118,000.00-$177,000.00 annually for certain San Jose, San Francisco Bay Area, and New York City metropolitan area locations.
- Additional cash or stock incentives and medical, financial, and other benefits may be provided depending on the position.
