Base Salary
$117k - $218k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded software in C/C++ and Rust.
- Develop and modify Linux kernel drivers and bare-metal embedded device drivers.
- Develop standalone embedded applications and Python software.
- Work with Linux, TCP/IP, network configuration, and protocols including IPSec, MACsec, and TLS.
- Support software for Layer 2 and Layer 3 inline network encryptors, embedded cryptographic devices, and emerging cryptographic solutions.
- Collaborate with system, test, hardware, and other multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Plan, track, and report on project progress.
- Travel up to 10%.
Requirements
- At least 2–3 years of design and implementation experience with embedded software in C/C++.
- At least 1 year of Linux OS experience, ideally in an embedded environment.
- Familiarity with Linux kernel driver development or modification.
- Experience with object-oriented software development, TCP/IP, common network configuration, Agile Scrum development, and CI/CD software development.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship and an active SECRET or TOP SECRET security clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include Rust, bare-metal embedded device drivers, NIOS, ARM, RISC-V, RESTConf interface design and implementation, emulation environments, IPSec, MACsec, TLS, Python, standalone embedded applications, and multidisciplinary engineering experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to plan, track, and report on progress.

- The stated base salary ranges are $117,000.00–$185,000.00 annually, with a $145,000.00–$218,000.00 annual range for specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area.
