Base Salary
$174k - $238k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, reliable network solutions with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain highly available cloud infrastructure at the edge of the Okta identity platform.
- Collect and analyze data to identify root causes of network-specific events.
- Automate AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
- Introduce system changes that improve efficiency, scalability, and engineering velocity.
- Provide technical leadership within the Emerging Products Group SRE organization.
Requirements
- Active U.S. TS/SCI clearance with full-scope poly and U.S. citizenship.
- Proven experience navigating Federal and DoD compliance frameworks, specifically FedRAMP and Impact Level 6, with familiarity in SC2S/C2S.
- At least 8 years of experience in cloud network engineering or a related role.
- In-depth TCP/IP knowledge across layers 2 through 7, including highly available VPCs, inter-VPC connectivity, firewalls, DNS, web-application firewalls, and cloud load balancing.
- Deep knowledge of AWS Transit Gateway, Site-to-Site VPN, and Direct Connect.
- Understanding of load balancing, DNS, and other networking protocols.
- Experience with Apache httpd, nginx, Apache Tomcat, or similar web servers.
- Ability to troubleshoot using AWS VPC flow logs, CloudWatch metrics, and packet captures.
- Experience with Terraform and git.
- Bash, Python, or Golang proficiency is a bonus.
- Preferred experience with Palo Alto virtual firewalls, security policies, routing, GlobalProtect, gdb, strace, ltrace, tcpdump, Wireshark, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
