Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Become a subject-matter expert in production database troubleshooting, ServiceNow instance performance, and Linux performance analysis.
- Own complex incident root-cause analysis across multi-tenant PostgreSQL and MariaDB fleets at scale.
- Develop observability and automation to prevent recurrence of critical issues.
- Influence infrastructure decisions shaping the multi-tenant cloud platform.
- Mentor and collaborate with engineers across operations, support, and development.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide final-level support for internal and external customers.
Requirements
- 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 3 years with a master's degree, a PhD without experience, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years supporting or testing large-scale web-based distributed applications.
- 5+ years of experience with multiple relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
- Experience with MVCC, transaction management, vacuum mechanics, database and query performance tuning, buffer management, WAL architecture, and backup/restore.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with a SaaS, PaaS, or cloud infrastructure product or solution.
- Unix skills including development, navigation, file manipulation, permissions, searching files and text, and administrative actions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and an aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Experience integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
- Preferred experience with the ServiceNow platform, scripting, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Preferred scripting experience with shell scripting, Python, JavaScript, and Ansible.
- Understanding of schemas, tablespaces, indexing, and database performance optimization.
- Familiarity with CentOS or Red Hat operating systems.
- Desired experience on a DevOps, Kubernetes, CI/CD, performance, or support team serving a web-based application.

- Base pay is $146,200-$255,900, plus equity when applicable, variable or incentive compensation, and benefits.
