Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end feature development for Windows Voice AI capabilities, including wake-on-voice, on-device ASR, translation, transcription, and TTS.
- Gather technical requirements and translate product goals into engineering requirements, architecture, and milestones.
- Design and implement Windows audio and driver stack solutions across user-mode and kernel-mode boundaries using CPU, DSP, and NPU capabilities.
- Develop low-power always-on audio architectures, including concurrency and power-mode transitions across audio features.
- Optimize and validate performance while debugging multithreaded and multiprocessor issues across hardware and software boundaries.
- Communicate status, risks, and mitigations and contribute to roadmap planning, execution, and process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of industry software engineering experience focused on Windows system software, device drivers, multimedia/audio, platform software, or performance- and power-sensitive products.
- Proficiency in systems programming, preferably C/C++, and experience delivering production-quality code in complex codebases.
- Strong Windows development skills with Visual Studio, Git-based source control workflows, and disciplined debugging practices.
- Understanding of Windows processes, threads, synchronization, memory, I/O, and performance diagnostics.
- Experience developing or integrating Windows drivers with KMDF and/or UMDF, including build, deployment, and debugging.
- Experience with multithreaded programming, concurrency control, and performance and latency tuning.
- Windows audio ecosystem experience, such as audio drivers, audio endpoints, WASAPI, audio effects/APOs, audio policy, power-aware audio, or end-to-end audio pipeline integration.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot, with prompt iteration and validation against real code and requirements.
- Experience creating repeatable prompt patterns or templates for engineering workflows.
- Experience with low-power or always-on audio, power-state transitions, Modern Standby constraints, and wake or trigger flows.
- Familiarity with on-device voice activation and staged keyword or wake approaches.
- Experience optimizing workloads across CPU, DSP, and NPU while balancing latency, power, and quality.
- Exposure to ASR/TTS, speech translation, transcription, streaming and buffering strategies, and real-time constraints.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
