Base Salary
$97k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Analyze system and software requirements, develop use cases, and translate them into architecture, design, and implementation tasks.
- Design, implement, integrate, and test software components.
- Develop and maintain C++ software using memory management, bit-level data manipulation, and hardware-adjacent integration.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and system integration issues, including support for deployed operational systems.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional engineering teams to clarify requirements, support operations, and identify technical improvements.
- Produce technical documentation, participate in design and code reviews, and contribute to engineering process improvement.
- Travel up to 10%.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 2 years of related experience, or 8 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, multithreaded programming, concurrency models, and synchronization techniques.
- Experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS or Linux, simulators, and programming languages including C, C++, Python, and scripting languages.
- Experience with embedded controllers such as PIC and STM, serial communications such as TCP/IP and RS422, and distributed messaging using TCP/UDP.
- Proficiency with Java, Python, and Rust.
- Understanding of cloud and AI technologies and their integration.
- Experience developing software for space, aerospace, or defense systems is preferred.
- Active TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and contribute effectively to a team environment.
