Responsibilities
- Test and validate data contracts, schemas, interfaces, data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, APIs, reporting products, and analytics solutions.
- Create basic test scenarios, validation checks, SQL-based data validations, source-to-target checks, and reconciliation tests.
- Build or contribute to UI and functional test automation using frameworks such as Playwright.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and investigate data discrepancies, test failures, and defects.
- Collaborate with data engineers, developers, QA engineers, analysts, and product teams.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent technical education.
- Basic to intermediate Java programming skills and understanding of programming fundamentals and object-oriented concepts.
- Good understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Strong interest in data quality, software testing, and test automation.
- Ability to translate business or technical requirements into basic test scenarios and validation checks.
- Basic understanding of Git/source control and software development practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, verbal communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with SQL and data validation, data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data warehouses, data quality concepts, data profiling, reconciliation, data contracts, schemas, APIs, or source-to-target validation.
- Preferred qualifications include exposure to Playwright, Selenium, REST API testing, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, reporting or analytics tools, and GCP, AWS, or Azure.
