Base Salary
$170k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own product features end-to-end from requirements through development, QA, and production.
- Build and extend scalable backend services and React frontends within a microservice architecture.
- Analyze, review, and maintain services, APIs, and data models.
- Design and operate APIs and relational data models supporting business needs.
- Modernize the platform by decomposing or migrating away from monolithic systems.
- Partner with product managers, QA, designers, and engineers on cross-team priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
- Lead technical design discussions, communicate risks and recommendations, and mentor other engineers.
- Manage assigned work independently and deliver commitments in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
- Production experience with Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, and Go.
- Experience designing and operating APIs and relational data models using PostgreSQL.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservice architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex features end-to-end and collaborate with product and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS, Redis, React, GraphQL, fintech, insurance, or real estate technology, plus a master's degree or additional training in distributed systems or software architecture.
