Base Salary
$108k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Support system certification and accreditation efforts, including RMF Authorization to Operate and NSA Type 1 Cryptographic Certification.
- Decompose, allocate, implement, and verify cybersecurity requirements using systems engineering practices.
- Analyze system requirements, models, diagrams, and architectures to identify security vulnerabilities and risks.
- Provide security engineering input during system design and collaborate with systems engineers and developers.
- Participate in security-focused system verification and validation by writing test plans and procedures, conducting tests, and analyzing remediation recommendations.
- Develop security documentation and contribute to a collaborative, continuously learning engineering team.
- Maintain awareness of evolving security threats and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor-level STEM education and at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced related degree and at least 5 years of experience.
- U.S. citizenship and an active, transferable Secret U.S. government security clearance before the start date.
- Experience applying the Risk Management Framework to mission systems in disconnected DoD environments.
- Familiarity with technical security concepts, technologies, implementations, system models, diagrams, and architectures.
- Technical writing skills and the ability to develop security documentation.
- Preferred experience with NSA cryptographic certification, Cross Domain Solution requirements, and NIAP.
- Preferred experience in at least two areas including systems engineering, test engineering, software engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
- Preferred familiarity with DOORS, JIRA, Confluence, Cameo, or other systems modeling and agile tools.
- Preferred advanced security certifications such as CISSP or Security+ and an electrical or computer engineering degree.
- Preferred experience with embedded-system and aerospace communications security protocols and DoD security assessment tools such as SCC, NMAP, Evaluate-STIG, Nessus, ACAS, Vulnerator, and eMASSter.
