Base Salary

$177k - $265k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and adopt developer tooling that enhances the software development lifecycle and share best practices across CitiDirect scrum teams.
  • Partner with architecture teams to drive development-tool adoption and assist with testing framework design.
  • Mentor junior developers, lead code reviews, and establish AI development standards and best practices.
  • Implement DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Stand up automated integration testing frameworks in partnership with testing teams.
  • Contribute hands-on Java software development and solve complex technical problems.
  • Design scalable solutions using microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Drive adoption of technologies and practices that improve productivity, quality, performance, and scalability.
  • Foster innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing across engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with software development, the software development lifecycle, microservices architecture, and API design principles.
  • 5+ years of experience with DevOps tools including Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, and Kubernetes, plus Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and mentor engineering teams, set development standards, and drive project execution.
  • Experience with NoSQL and SQL data storage, data lakes, and pipeline orchestration.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities with a record of delivering innovative solutions and improving performance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience.
  • Preferred: knowledge of responsible AI practices including bias detection, explainability, and hallucination mitigation.
  • Preferred: familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Preferred: experience optimizing and scaling large applications.
  • Preferred: understanding of the payments industry and payment systems and processes.
