Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test distributed query execution and long-term metrics storage features using Rust, Java, S3, Kinesis, DynamoDB, and ECS.
- Operate and maintain a globally available 24x7 CloudWatch service and resolve root causes of customer and operational issues.
- Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and peers to gather requirements, influence the roadmap, and shape observability capabilities.
- Participate in design, code reviews, testing, deployment, documentation, and teammate mentoring.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and approaches for system and engineering-practice improvements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: experience with server, storage, networking, or large-scale distributed systems.
- Preferred: experience leading the design, build, and production deployment of complex, performant, reliable, and scalable software solutions.
- Preferred: familiarity with time-series data, metrics systems, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, PromQL, or other time-series query languages.
- Preferred: experience with S3-based storage, stream processing such as Kinesis or Kafka, or columnar formats such as Parquet.
- Preferred: experience with query planning, storage compaction, or performance optimization at scale.
