Responsibilities
- Design, modify, implement, integrate, test, debug, and refine software applications and embedded subsystems.
- Develop and maintain real-time and low-level embedded software, including Linux/VxWorks BSP and kernel configuration for multiple hardware architectures.
- Develop C/C++ software, hardware device drivers, networked client-server applications, and database-driven applications.
- Build software tools and subsystems that support development, testing, and software reuse.
- Perform software builds, automated testing, troubleshooting, and software releases in Linux and AWS environments.
- Review software designs, interfaces, requirements, specifications, test plans, procedures, and engineering documentation.
- Support system testing, analyze test results, and troubleshoot hardware and software designs.
- Improve software operating time, efficiency, robustness, and maintainability throughout the software lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in computer science, computer engineering, or software engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 0–3 years of work experience.
- C/C++ programming experience in a Linux environment, including TCP/IP network programming and device drivers.
- Familiarity with AWS, automation testing methodologies, database methodologies, and network security methodologies is preferred.
- Messaging application development experience with MQTT, Zenoh, messaging servers, and messaging clients is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, plan engineering activities, use resources efficiently, and work effectively in a small-team setting.
- Strong concise written and verbal engineering communication skills and the ability to interface with customers through engineering documentation.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 5% of the time.
