Base Salary
$137k - $202k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and build foundational ML systems for real-time assignment and fulfillment estimation across DoorDash’s logistics ecosystem.
- Lead 0-to-1 ML initiatives involving assignment, routing, batching, fulfillment execution, demand shaping, and logistics optimization.
- Define architectures and influence technical strategy and execution for Tier-0, high-reliability, low-latency logistics services.
- Establish best practices for model development, deployment, monitoring, retraining, and governance.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Platform teams to improve delivery quality, cost, and efficiency.
- Define and lead an LLM-inspired foundation model vision for intelligence across logistics.
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar for logistics machine learning across the organization.
Requirements
- 8+ years of industry experience building and deploying production-scale machine learning systems.
- Strong machine learning fundamentals and experience applying them to large-scale production systems.
- Fluency in Python and hands-on experience with modern machine learning and deep learning frameworks.
- Experience designing, launching, and operating mission-critical ML models or systems in production, including monitoring, retraining, reliability, and governance.
- Ability to lead complex technical projects end to end and influence stakeholders across multiple teams or organizations.
- Experience building or shipping large-scale ML models for recommendation, advertising, marketplace, logistics, or related domains.
- Experience with knowledge distillation from large teacher models into efficient production models.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences and comfort turning ambiguous 0-to-1 ideas into production systems.
