Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain the Playwright-based test framework architecture, including page object patterns, test data management, and CI integration.
  • Establish testability standards with developers, including data-testid conventions, API test hooks, and testable architecture practices.
  • Own the testing pyramid strategy across unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Build and maintain smoke, nightly regression, and weekly full-suite CI pipelines.
  • Automate revenue-critical and marketing-critical flows such as checkout, registration, analytics, tracking, and SEO validation.
  • Write production monitoring tests for system and vendor availability, including Stripe, Calendly, and fulfillment integrations.
  • Identify, triage, and track bugs with reproduction steps and root cause analysis.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and customer support on requirements, testability, and risk.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a software engineering or SDET role with strong programming fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience building test frameworks from scratch; Playwright is preferred, with Cypress or similar accepted.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript for framework development.
  • Experience designing CI/CD test pipelines using GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of the testing pyramid and experience placing tests at the appropriate layer.
  • Experience partnering with developers on testability standards, API test hooks, and code reviews for test coverage.
  • Familiarity with API testing, network-layer assertions, and mocking or stubbing third-party integrations.
  • Experience with mobile test automation using Maestro or Appium is a plus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, availability testing, or SRE-adjacent practices is a plus.
