Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and reliable test automation frameworks.
- Create and execute automated tests for backend services, REST APIs, integrations, and end-to-end user workflows.
- Develop automation strategies for interactive maps, geospatial data, dynamic visualizations, and other non-standard UI components.
- Validate cloud-native applications deployed on AWS across distributed architectures.
- Troubleshoot application and test failures, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering teams on resolution.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Partner with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps teams to promote quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Advocate for quality as a shared engineering responsibility.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in software development and test automation.
- Strong programming skills in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cypress or Playwright.
- Experience with API testing tools such as REST Assured, Supertest, or equivalent frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services, including AWS Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB.
- Experience validating, troubleshooting, and testing applications deployed in AWS environments.
- Ability to work independently, own testing initiatives, and deliver with minimal guidance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience testing microservices and distributed systems.
- Preferred experience validating interactive maps, GIS/geospatial features, data visualizations, canvas-based applications, or highly interactive user interfaces.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.

- Canada-based starting base salary of $84,000-$123,200, with offers based on experience and geographic location.
