Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the processing of billions of daily events through scalable batch and streaming data pipelines.
- Develop monitoring, alerting, data validation, and fault-tolerant strategies for distributed systems.
- Partner with YouTube stakeholders, including Shorts, Live, Creator Analytics, and Trust and Safety, to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Evolve the computation of YouTube’s user-facing metrics for new viewing experiences and products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of software development experience in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- At least 2 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: experience developing accessible technologies.
- Preferred: experience with Spanner, Bigtable, Server Platform, or Flume.
- Preferred: deep understanding of large-scale architecture design and implementation.
