Base Salary
$198k - $222k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and optimize ML-powered product experiences for Strava’s global community of athletes.
- Own end-to-end ML systems from model prototyping and evaluation through production code, inference, deployment, scaling, and optimization.
- Design models and methodologies for recommendations, activity prediction, personalized insights, and related fitness problems.
- Use Strava’s fitness and geographic datasets to generate insights, inform product decisions, and improve features.
- Improve ML platform capabilities, model development practices, deployment processes, maintenance, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, engineers, and cross-functional product teams to identify opportunities and deliver business impact.
Requirements
- Experience working on numerous machine learning problems and breaking them into incremental tasks.
- Experience building, shipping, and supporting machine learning models in production at scale.
- Experience with exploratory data analysis and model prototyping using Python or R and tools such as Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and SageMaker.
- Experience building data pipelines with large-scale data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, EMR, SQL, and Snowflake.
- Experience with production ML operational practices including automated model retraining, performance monitoring, feature logging, and A/B testing.
- Experience building backend production services in cloud environments such as AWS using Python, Ruby, Java, Scala, or Go.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, ownership, and cross-functional leadership skills.
