Responsibilities
- Build, enhance, and co-own the Python-based algorithmic engine for automated production planning.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using FastAPI.
- Work across architecture, implementation, deployment, and operations in the company’s cloud technology ecosystem.
- Translate domain knowledge from engineers, analysts, and planners into robust system logic.
- Help evolve the platform toward event-driven patterns using Kafka and related messaging technologies.
- Support and enhance the internal React application and its frontend-backend integration.
- Improve reliability through automated testing, performance tuning, instrumentation, monitoring, and system design.
- Participate in pairing, design discussions, knowledge sharing, and shaping the platform’s future direction.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering experience focused on backend development, with Python as the primary language.
- Experience building systems with complex business logic, deterministic and constraint-based optimizers, and MIP solvers.
- Hands-on experience building production-grade APIs with FastAPI or similar modern frameworks.
- Knowledge of relational databases and experience working with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, S3, or other data systems.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging technologies.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, Airflow, cloud environments, containerization, and orchestration.
- Experience contributing to scalable architecture for internal tools or operational platforms.
- Full-stack capability with React or another modern frontend framework.
- Hands-on daily experience using AI tooling such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, including managing context and boundaries for AI-generated work.
- Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, product sense, and comfort working through ambiguity.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is nice to have.
- Experience in fulfillment, logistics, supply chain, production, or working with physical goods is nice to have.
