Base Salary

$234k - $351k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define long-term technical direction, architecture, common integration patterns, and engineering strategy for the launched-effects portfolio.
  • Guide development, integration, validation, and operational deployment of mission autonomy, platform interfaces, executive autonomy, multi-agent coordination, and fleet-scale capabilities.
  • Lead cross-functional architecture reviews, interface standards, ICDs, post-mortems, capability release planning, mission validation, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with autonomy, perception, feature crews, autopilot vendors, C2 providers, customers, and engineering leadership to influence architecture across multiple programs.
  • Mentor Staff and Senior engineers, develop technical leaders, contribute to engineering standards and leveling, and support senior engineering hiring.
  • Provide senior technical leadership during flight tests, customer demonstrations, operator training, and operational exercises.
  • Lead complex autonomy integration debugging across software, embedded systems, networking, platform interfaces, and operational environments.
  • Drive mission data analysis, debriefs, engineering process improvements, testing infrastructure, integration workflows, developer experience, and mission reliability.
  • Define C2 interoperability strategy and promote standards including UCI, OMS, MOSA, WOSA, and TAK/CoT.
  • Travel approximately 10–20% of the year to offices, customer sites, training events, flight tests, and integration exercises.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Expert-level C++ and Linux systems development experience.
  • Experience defining technical strategy across multiple engineering teams or programs.
  • A proven record of influencing architecture and solving highly complex autonomy integration challenges.
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and driving engineering excellence across an organization.
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.
  • Preferred: extensive experience with launched effects, autonomous systems, or distributed robotic platforms.
  • Preferred: experience with autopilot integration strategies, multi-agent autonomy architectures, fleet-scale or disconnected deployments, military operational testing, international defense customers, open architectures, and engineering practices spanning multiple teams or organizations.
