Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Design, develop, debug, troubleshoot, and review secure, high-quality software across Java, Python, and Node.js.
- Develop and troubleshoot applications across AWS and Kubernetes environments while considering upstream and downstream system impacts.
- Drive adoption, governance, validation standards, and reusable automation for enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices.
- Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide software development lifecycle tools, frameworks, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, deployment, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in Java or Python and experience with modern programming and database querying languages in a large corporate environment.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, security, and compliance.
- Understanding of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker in AWS cloud environments.
- Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems with little to no oversight.
- Preferred: Node.js, Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, AI/ML frameworks, intelligent enterprise applications, large-scale data pipelines, event-driven architectures, financial services technology, regulated-industry software, and practical cloud-native experience.
