Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales and pre-sales to clarify requirements, design solutions, and drive complex pursuits with technical and executive stakeholders.
- Set the vision and direction for data engineering practices in alignment with business strategy.
- Advise executive stakeholders on strategic data objectives, data quality, and opportunities to leverage data.
- Consult on complex data platform programs and provide client-facing technical leadership as a data subject-matter expert.
- Create, design, and develop sophisticated data processing pipelines for complex client problems.
- Collaborate with data scientists to design scalable implementations and productionize their models.
- Write and deploy clean, iterative code for operating and supporting data pipelines.
- Define and implement data governance, security, and privacy strategies for business and compliance requirements.
- Mentor engineers, grow the team’s capability, raise delivery standards, and contribute to market-facing thought leadership.
Requirements
- Extensive pre-sales experience and the ability to independently drive complex pursuits and create winning commercial proposals.
- Hands-on expertise in at least one or two core technologies, combined with the ability to lead implementation teams.
- Experience with enterprise system design using Domain-Driven Design across multiple business domains.
- Experience creating big-data architectures, building and operating data pipelines, and maintaining data storage in distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, modern data engineering tools and platforms, and cloud warehousing tools.
- Experience building and deploying large-scale data pipelines and data-centric applications using distributed storage and processing platforms in production.
- Experience designing and developing real-time and low-latency data streaming solutions in cloud and locally hosted environments.
- Experience with data visualization, data governance, data security policies, data privacy, MLOps, and data science concepts.
- Recent experience in consultancy or professional services driving data and AI engagements end to end.
- Experience shaping and helping win data and AI pursuits, including deals of approximately €3M or more.
- Experience growing a practice, capability, go-to-market asset, or reusable accelerator with measurable business outcomes.
- Typically 10+ years of significant hands-on and leadership experience in data and AI.
- Fluent German skills at C1 level.
