Responsibilities
- Develop, test, maintain, and support application features using Java, REST/SOAP APIs, and DB2.
- Design and enhance scalable applications, APIs, integrations, and insurance technology solutions.
- Develop significant new functionality and resolve defects with minimal direction.
- Create design specifications covering interfacing systems and supported business processes.
- Propose improvements to system supportability and usability.
- Perform peer reviews and follow development practices including documentation and unit testing.
- Provide rotating on-call support for production systems.
- Monitor and assess performance metrics before and after implementation.
- Provide end-user mentoring and training individually and in small groups.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA resources, end users, subsidiaries, and technical teams.
- Help define future application advancement and provide recommendations for business issues.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional development experience.
- Strong experience developing web applications in Java, preferably Java 11 or later.
- Strong experience with DB2 or SQL Server databases.
- Software Development Life Cycle experience.
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, analytical, adaptability, and stakeholder-interaction skills.
- Atlassian suite experience, including Jira, Bamboo, or Confluence, is a plus.
- GitHub Enterprise experience for source-code management and build and deployment management is a plus.

- Approximately 5 –10% travel is required.
