Software Engineer II- China Tech
Booking.comResponsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and scale high-performance systems for the public website and internal systems.
- Make technical decisions independently within a team.
- Troubleshoot and prioritize site and internal-system issues based on customer impact.
- Communicate and mediate technical problems with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support large-scale experimentation and A/B testing platforms.
- Contribute to interviewing, onboarding, and other recruitment efforts.
- Participate in an on-call rotation when required.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software development experience using two or more server-side programming languages.
- Previous experience with distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience developing in and contributing to open-source data technologies such as Hadoop.
- Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
- Experience working on products affecting a large customer base is advantageous.
- A university degree in Mathematics or Software Engineering is preferred.
- Fluent English and Chinese communication skills.
