Responsibilities
- Act as the senior architecture authority for front-office trading platforms and strategic technology initiatives.
- Own architecture standards, roadmaps, governance processes, and design artefacts.
- Lead Architecture Review Board reviews and provide architectural challenge across technology solutions.
- Evaluate platforms and designs for scalability, resilience, performance, security, observability, supportability, operability, compliance, latency, and cost efficiency.
- Provide architectural oversight across OMS/EMS, execution platforms, market connectivity, market data, risk controls, trade processing, and supporting infrastructure.
- Lead capacity planning, platform scaling, performance optimization, and systemic bottleneck resolution.
- Guide cloud, hybrid architecture, automation, platform engineering, resilience, observability, and modernization initiatives.
- Establish governance and guardrails for responsible AI adoption and intelligent automation.
- Partner with engineering, infrastructure, security, risk, compliance, operations, enterprise architecture, product, and front-office stakeholders.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience designing, delivering, or supporting technology solutions in investment banking, capital markets, or electronic trading environments.
- Practical experience with low-latency and latency-sensitive trading platforms and a deep understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of OMS/EMS platforms and front-office trading architectures across front-, middle-, and back-office systems.
- Experience in complex, regulated financial institutions, including balancing business objectives with risk, control, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience leading architecture governance, Architecture Review Board reviews, and strategic technology decisions for business-critical platforms.
- Hands-on technical engineering background with the ability to influence designs, engage engineering teams, and perform technical deep dives.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, messaging platforms, sequencing technologies, and high-volume enterprise platforms.
- Experience with capacity planning, platform scaling, performance optimization, and application, infrastructure, middleware, messaging, and network performance tuning.
- Familiarity with network telemetry, transaction tracing, packet capture analysis, and Corvil.
- Experience evaluating emerging AI technologies and identifying practical automation, engineering productivity, software delivery, operational support, governance, and platform engineering opportunities.
- Ability to collaborate across Front Office, Product, Operations, Infrastructure, Risk, Compliance, Security, and Enterprise Architecture functions.
