Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the gameplay QA team while fostering accountability, role clarity, and continuous skill growth.
- Translate the Cyberpunk 2 QA strategy into practical testing approaches, measurable outcomes, team priorities, and milestone verification plans.
- Own testing execution, monitor gameplay quality metrics, KPIs, and bug trends, and create mitigation plans for identified risks.
- Coordinate testing dependencies and gameplay requests with development, production, external QA vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Provide data-informed reporting on quality status, blockers, risks, and project readiness.
- Improve QA workflows, tools, testing frameworks, documentation, reporting, and team effectiveness.
- Assist with complex investigations, issue analysis, performance analysis, crash debugging, and memory investigations when required.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience leading or managing QA teams and at least 5 years of experience with direct performance management and career development.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, bug workflows, defect management, test planning, test coverage, QA practices, and quality reporting.
- Experience with game engines and editors, preferably Unreal Engine, and a strong understanding of game development lifecycles.
- Experience developing and executing testing strategies for integration, stress, performance, stability, tools, engine, platform, and technical feature validation.
- Experience with QA metrics, KPIs, bug trends, profiling tools, crash analysis, memory investigations, platform-specific testing, or console development environments.
- Experience with Unreal Insights, engine profiling, crash debugging, test documentation, test plans, test reports, dashboards, or quality summaries.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, ownership, accountability, emotional maturity, and ability to work under pressure and changing priorities.
- Experience working with external QA vendors, distributed QA teams, or cross-location development teams.
- English proficiency at a minimum C1 level and availability to work from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM for overlap with the Boston team.
- Nice-to-have experience includes AAA titles, user experience research, focus groups, usability testing, player feedback, automation frameworks, automated test authorship, build verification, CI/CD pipelines, and technical validation workflows.
- Interest in the Cyberpunk universe and passion for high-quality player experiences in large-scale RPGs.
