Responsibilities

  • Maintain the QA test lab and ensure test systems are operational for Kansas-based engineers.
  • Coordinate with the platform team to upgrade or order test hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Reproduce software issues in the lab with Kansas-based engineers.
  • Maintain proprietary Python code for the automated test system.
  • Maintain and expand Jenkins scripting and the automated test suite.
  • Create automation scripts for stress tests, performance tests, and special-feature testing.
  • Create and maintain an image-diffing test suite.
  • Develop test plans and automated tests using the proprietary test system.
  • Perform manual testing of new software-release features as needed.
  • Communicate with team members across time zones.
  • Help others learn to use the test system.
  • Document the test system for internal and external users.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Significant experience testing 3D graphics applications and/or content creation tools.
  • Solid understanding of 3D graphics concepts and the ability to identify technical and aesthetic software problems.
  • Experience writing automated tests.
  • Strong experience using command prompts such as DOS and Bash.
  • Experience with software project management using Jira or a similar tool.
  • Detail orientation, organizational and communication skills, and persistence in following through.
  • Eligibility to work with export-controlled technology and U.S. citizenship due to restricted data access.
  • Video game or 3D graphics testing experience is a bonus.
  • Flight simulation software experience is a bonus.
  • VR or MR headset configuration and testing experience is a bonus.
  • Experience creating image-difference tests is a bonus.
  • Experience with Jira, Perforce, Visual Studio, Jenkins, Bash, and GitHub is a bonus.
  • Technical documentation experience is a bonus.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling, GIS, geospatial, or geotypical content creation is a bonus.
