Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable microservices and APIs for consumer profile, orchestration, and data services.
Define service boundaries, data models, and interaction patterns for distributed systems.
Build and scale high-performance Java and Spring Boot services in a cloud-native environment.
Own services through design, implementation, production operations, incident response, monitoring, logging, and runbooks.
Drive platform modernization, data migration, automation, observability, and operational resilience improvements.
Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing strategies, infrastructure, and delivery practices.
Partner with identity, commerce, loyalty, data, product, security, and privacy teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Influence architecture and technical direction while mentoring engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on collaboration.

8+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend systems and distributed architectures.
Proven experience designing and building microservices-based platforms at scale.
Strong hands-on expertise with Java, Spring Boot, and cloud-native development, with GCP preferred.
Experience with delivery pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and observability tooling.
Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL data models and backend system design.
Experience leading technical initiatives or influencing engineering direction.
Ability to operate in complex distributed systems and solve challenging technical problems.
Preferred: experience with AWS or other cloud platforms beyond GCP.
Preferred: experience with authentication and identity systems such as OAuth, JWT, Auth0, or Okta.
Preferred: experience with data migration, ETL pipelines, or platform modernization.
Preferred: familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot or Claude.
