Responsibilities
- Translate requirements into high-quality, scalable software solutions.
- Design and develop distributed systems and cloud-scale services for OCI Virtual Networking.
- Work across low-level systems and broad distributed-system interactions, including high availability and networking.
- Build and operate a new Network-as-a-Service offering covering network planning, provisioning, lifecycle management, and security.
- Develop and execute software test plans, automation, code reviews, and software estimates.
- Analyze data, support continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of systems or application development experience and 5 years with distributed systems or network programming.
- Proficiency in C++ or Java, with strong data structures, algorithms, and operating-systems knowledge.
- Familiarity with distributed-systems concepts including the CAP theorem, consensus, messaging, and high availability.
- A qualifying combination of education and software-development experience, ranging from 11 years of experience without a degree to a doctorate plus 3 years of experience.
- At least 3 years of academic or professional cloud-platform experience, 5 years of system-level testing and automation, and 4 years delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s or PhD, cloud networking or infrastructure-as-a-service experience, and experience building cloud-scale applications.
- Knowledge of automation, scripting languages, quality assurance, software testing, code review, compliance, and software estimation.
